Angel Does Not Suck [Feb. 11th, 2006|11:54 am]
Angel is too a cool show! How can anyone say that it sucks? It so does not suck. Saying the OC sucks is one thing. It in fact does suck. Angel never sucked. It was about a vampire who solved mysteries and fought demons. It's a fucking comic book! The whole brow thing is just Joss Whedon's thing to make vampires look more like monsters. Nosferatu looks pretty fucked up if you ask me, so what's wrong with a big fucking brow? Angel had drinking blood and sex and violence. It had also had some witty fucking dialogue, something other instance of vampires in popular culture might lack. Yea, witty dialogue, remember that? It's that thing that makes television shows not suck. There are plenty of vampires that fight crime too. It's not a strange fucking concept. A short list might include: Alek Knight, Alucard from Castlevania, Alucard from Hellsing, Blade, BloodRayne, Barnabas Collins, Vampire Hunter D, Kain, Hannibal King, Morbius, the Talamasca Caste, Vampirella, and Victor Renquist. That took me a while so I can't quite remember where I was going to go next with this, but suffice to say that Angel doesn't suck. Neither does David Boreanaz.

Bloody Hell I'm Bored [Feb. 5th, 2006|05:35 pm]
It seems that whith each new post what was once a page for news is slowly devolving into my own personal blog. Which is interesting because I've never been a fan of the whole blog phenomenon. I always thought it was stupid. However, I suppose if there's a possible audience, then I have no right to deprive them of the awe inspiring text that is my thoughts. Here that? That's the sound of a pretentious ass changing his words to fit his current feelings on the subject. Mmm, isn't hypocrisy grand. In all honesty though, I'm just doing this because I'm bored. I'm not really expecting anyone to read it. I mean, it says right in the subject heading that the subject at hand is my boredom, fascinating subject that it is. Before this I wrote my views on the State of the Union for Hayes. It was suppose to be about half a page involving colons and the words "agree" or "disagree." Instead it spanned a page and a half. The first paragraph wasn't on any of the issues as much as it was about the frequency of standing ovations that Bush received from the tiring practice of existing. I thought those guys were just politicians. I was shocked at their ability to get up and down like that. I don't know where they got the stamina. They must practice months in advance. I'm not a sports fan by any stretch of the imagination, but for the last few years I have taken it upon myself to further my interests and at least watch the Super Bowl. Not this year. Not today. I hadn't even heard of a team called the Seagulls or whatever they are. And they're playing who? The Thieves? Bollocks to that. I've decided that I"m a fan of films that take place during the course of a day. I'm not completely sure why, but seriously w00t for them. At this point the subjects will get progressively more mundane. If you've read this far anyways, then you will most likely finish. If you haven't been deterred by now, then I don't imagine a simple warning would suffice at this point. You know Greg Hoover? Man, I really don't like that guy. I mean, I don't suppose any of his crimes were malicious in nature, but I'll be damned if that guy didn't annoy the piss out of me. This is opposed to Adam Hauptfeld who is routinely able to upset me both intentionally and Greg Hoover style. At least he seems to have backed off as of late. It's unfortunate that the things about Adam that most upset me about him are completely beyond his control, but there you are. I guess that's just the way some things work. That being not as they should. So I was incredibly bored yesterday as well so I went out. I got some of that bread for the first time since D-Day. It was delicious. I mean really. I sat in the food court and I ate it and I thought to myself "This is a good now." I tried to buy a used copy of Ninja Gaiden from EBGAmes. A move I have been planning on for about a year. They were out. Fuckers. I walked around outside for a while. It was very peaceful. On the way back to my battle damaged car I saw a water bottle on the grass so I went to throw it away. It's amazing that I have that kind of time. I bought the Penny Arcade book. It being the only peice of information in this grand tale that one might consider news I will say that I recommend it. It's reaonably priced and offers amusing commentary on all of the strips, a feature not available on the website. Oh! I started playing Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne again. Just until I turned my snake into a dragon, got a Hell Rider, and beat that fucking ogre. Mission accomplished on all fronts. That game is just a fiendishly difficult version of Pokemon. But, y'know, with demons. The culmination of mythology is actually quite interesting and impressive. If you're a fan of distinctly Japanese RPGs, then I highly recommend it. Keep in mind that it is difficult though. Well then, I am confident that I have in fact run out of topics without venturing into the realm of personal information. Go watch the OC if you want drama. On second thought, fuck the OC. I mean, watch it if you want drama, but it's still shitty. But then again, how many television shows aren't shitty? Regardless, I'm done for now. If you had the strength of will to actually read this exercise in the insidiously mundane, then congratulations. Your award is in the mail.

For the Hardest of the Hardcore [Feb. 1st, 2006|03:00 pm]
If you go out in the woods today
You're sure of a big surprise.
If you go out in the woods today
You'd better go in disguise.

For every bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain because
Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic.

Word to your mother.

Words for You to Read [Jan. 23rd, 2006|03:14 pm]
It has been brought to my attention that someone(dare I say ones) other than Erika might want to read this. So then, let me say this:
King Kong: Almost as long as Adrien Brodie's nose
Underworld 2: Not too good
Bag of bread from Stone Oven: Not too bad
Boondocks: Makes you think
Cromartie High School: Makes you laugh
Dragon Quest 8: Lots of quest, little bit of dragon, gets at least an 8
Me: Doing this alone
Stay clean kids.

Holy update Batman! [Jan. 15th, 2006|03:51 pm]
This isn't news but Lumines kicks ass. Seriously. The game is just so incredibly amazing that it has the unexplainable property of just plain kicking ass. If you walk into a room and Lumines happens to be there you will immediately feel a slight pain in your lower back area. Dead serious. Lumines is the sweetest thing since the invention of sugar. Mmmmm, that's good game.

Furthermore... [Nov. 22nd, 2005|05:13 pm]
It seems in my haste to bash Microsoft I came off as a raving lunatic. Do me a favor: If while reading my article you come across something that doesn't quite flow with the rest of it, just replace it with "FUCK the 360!" That should clear things up. Thanks!

Where's my "Next-Gen" Console? [Nov. 21st, 2005|10:24 pm]
Fuck the Xbox 360! It is the Xbox 1.5 and nothing more. This Microsoft saying "We are Microsoft! We make computers and you will buy them! We have more money than you ever will! If you don't buy our "console" we don't care, we have enough money to make as many failing consoles as we want!" Microsoft is very exclamatory, as you can see. The Xbox 360 is a slap in the face to all gamers. Microsoft thinks that because it's Microsoft it doesn't actually have to try. It can release a computer and call it a console, call it next-gen without only minor graphical improvements over Xbox(unless, perhaps, you happen to have an HDTV lying around), and sell games for $60 without one killer app. Project Gotham is your big title? It's a racing game! All you had to do is slightly tweak the graphics and online features of PGR2. I hate very few things. I dislike many many things, but hate is far too strong a word for me to throw around causally. I HATE the Xbox 360.

Finally, all the secrets of the hobos revealed! [Nov. 21st, 2005|03:38 pm]
It recently came to my attention that there has been a book, an almanac if you will, by a John Hodgman. Apparently, he has previously had work writing articles for certain publications which people read. I wouldn't know. However, I do know that he has written a book and in that book there are many (fake)facts of a silly nature. It includes a list of 700 hobo names and details the brief attempt by the hobos to take over the U.S. government. The book is called "The Areas of My Expertise." The book is by John Hodgman. The book is funny. Pick it up.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire [Nov. 18th, 2005|03:51 pm]
I don't think I need to say much because the people that might read this will probably see it without me saying anything. Let me just say this, then "That movie was pretty sweet." I honestly, like it better than the other three films in the series. There was more action and more teenage angst. Just try to avoid the girl in the theater who reminds everyone how much time is left. Five minutes after you say twenty minutes it'll be fifteen minutes. We got it. Thank you. Go away.
